Religious Education

At St. John Maron parish we have a uniquely designed Religious Education Program. Our certified teachers are dynamic, experienced and dedicated. They continually strive to serve the particular needs relating to the unique situation of our parish. The Religious Education Program consists of two major components: the Catholic Doctrine and the Maronite tradition. It takes place every Sunday from 11:00AM-12 Noon, September through May. We have a total of about thirty-three (33) sessions.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION SPECIAL PROJECT

Eight banners for the Season of Announcements and eight banners for the Season of Great Lent were designed and made by our Sunday school students. These banners artistically express one Sunday’s theme from our Maronite Liturgical Season. Beginning with the Season of Announcements, eight banners reflect the Seven Sundays in preparation for Christmas and conclude with the eighth banner dedicated to the manger and Christmas. Again with the Season of the Great Lent, seven banners reflect the seven Sundays from the “Entrance into Lent Sunday” until “Hosanna Sunday” or “Sha’nee-nee” Sunday. The eighth banner is dedicated to the Empty Tomb and the Resurrection of Our Lord. The banners are displayed in a chronological order on the eight beams of our church. They help educate both children and adults and further express the specific theme of that particular Sunday and how it relates the broader theme of the entire liturgical year.
